New York spring is nothing without Metropolitan Museum’s Fashion event, 2023 Met Gala. This year the Costume Institute chose to honour Karl Lagerfeld, who died in 2019, with the theme “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty.
Dress code was simple: Looks had to be “in honour of Karl.”, who was Head of Design at Chanel for 36 years. Karl was even designer for Chloé and Fendi.
Metropolitan Museum’s red carpet was filled with camellias, pearls sequins and black & white looks. Vintage Chanel was frequently spotted among the stars, and a few CATS sneaked by in honour of Karl Lagerfeld’s beloved Choupette.
